To enhance the educational experience of the students in the Environmental Science Department at the College of Environmental Sciences, the Sulaimani University’s through Mobility Office facilitated a unique opportunity. This initiative allowed students to engage in a practical course component of their “Ecotourism and environmental archaeology” curriculum. This practical approach was designed to leverage the expertise and knowledge from the University of Reading’s specialists, providing students from Kurdistan with invaluable skills and insights. The practical sessions of the course commenced with a field trip to the Bestansur archaeological site on October 17, 2023. The theoretical aspects of the course were delivered by two esteemed archaeology professors, Dr. Wendy M. Watson, and Dr. Amy Richardson, enriching the students’ learning experience. The continuation of the course online was on February 1, 2024, ensuring a comprehensive educational journey for the students.
