As part of their professional training, fourth-year Environmental Science students from the College of Environmental Science participated in a field course in Erbil focused on the implementation of solar panel systems and the assessment of their environmental and social impacts.
This hands-on training, sponsored by Progers Sun Company and the Kurdistan Student Association, provided students with in-depth, practical experience in every stage of solar panel system installation—from design and setup to operation and maintenance. Beyond the technical aspects, the training also covered how renewable energy systems contribute to environmental sustainability and improve community well-being.
Through fieldwork and guided assessments, students gained valuable insights into the real-world applications of solar energy, and how such systems can reduce carbon emissions, promote clean energy use, and support a greener future for the Kurdistan Region.
This training marks a vital step in preparing our students to be leaders in renewable energy and environmental protection. We thank our sponsors for their support and look forward to expanding practical learning opportunities in this important field.
